This replaces the green card a patient carries: one line for every check-up, with the date, the blood pressure, the heart rate, the blood sugar, the weight, a comment and the initials of whoever took it.

I typed a reading wrongly. Can I fix it?

You record a correction, not an edit. Press “Correct” on the line, enter what it should say, and give a reason. The card then shows the corrected value and keeps the original underneath it. Nobody, including an administrator, can change a measurement after it is saved — the database refuses.

I am typing up an old card and the time is wrong.

The time a reading was taken can be corrected, unlike the measurements, because old cards are often entered long afterwards. It asks for a reason and keeps the previous time on file.

Why was my reading flagged?

Every reading is checked against the doctor's targets for that patient and against standard clinical limits. Whichever is stricter wins. A warning means outside target; critical means a value dangerous in itself, such as 180/120 or above. The system decides this, not the person entering it.

Who can change a patient's targets?

Only a doctor on that patient's care team. Nurses and caretakers record; doctors decide. Setting new targets closes the old ones and keeps them, so a reading from last March is still judged against the targets that applied in March.

Can a patient be deleted?

Removed from the active list, with a reason — never destroyed. The record and every reading on it remain, and can be brought back.

Who can see that I opened a record?

Every time a patient's record is opened it is logged, along with who opened it and when. Kenya's Data Protection Act 2019 treats health information as sensitive, and access to it has to be accountable. This applies to everyone equally.

Can I print the card?

Yes. Print the patient's page and you get the card alone — no navigation, no forms, black on white, ready to travel with a patient being referred or discharged.
